Chef MayaMoyo is the founder and head chef of MayaMoyo Dishes Catering LLC, based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, serving events across the DMV — Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. She has over a decade of experience preparing authentic West African cuisine for private and corporate clients: Nigerian jollof rice and suya, Cameroonian ndolé and cassava leaves, Togolese djenkoumé and khom, and a full range of intercontinental dishes.
Trained in both traditional West African home cooking and professional catering preparation, Chef MayaMoyo learned her craft from family cooks and community gatherings across multiple West African countries — absorbing the techniques and ingredient knowledge that make each regional dish distinctive. She brings that knowledge to every event: sourcing the right fish, pounding the right spices, and cooking every dish from scratch on the day of service.
From intimate birthday dinners in Gaithersburg to large wedding receptions and corporate lunch events in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Washington D.C., MayaMoyo has built a reputation for delivering authentic, deeply-flavored food on time and with genuine warmth.
